Blog Prompt – June 4, 2008: Your most memorable vacation or relaxation spots.

This is supposed to be about my most memorable vacation spot in the past couple of ears, but due to health restrictions we have been unable to holiday anywhere in the past three years.

The last holiday we went on, was four years ago now, and it was our first as a family of six.  We organised to go to Echuca for a week of total get-away.  The older kids had all been there many years before, when Marks mum and dad owned one of the local motels, but this was the first time Cailee had been with us, and the first time Aimee and Bobbie would take home memories of being there.

Melanie remembered bits and pieces from when she was younger, but the paddlesteamer even brought very vague memories back for Aimee and Bobbie.

It was a great family holiday which everyone raved about for months after.  We even got to the stage while up there, of considering moving up there permanently, and went looking for rental properties to move into.  The kids said they would miss their friends down her, but the warmer weather and the chance to live up there compensated.

Needless to say, we didn’t move, and fortunate it was too, since less than twelce months later mark was diagnosed with renal failure and numerous trips to hospitals and doctors have followed ever since.  A move to Echuca at that time would have meant a move back down here within the year.

Still we have good memories of our time away as a family – ones almost all of us remember today.
